Nevi or moles are common pigmented lesions in children. They usually appear during childhood or adolescence with no known cause, grow with your patient tend to darken. No complications often lead but it is important to check a dermatologist to rule out a possible melanoma. Types of common nevi in childhood: Melanocytic nevi, the common mole Congenital nevus, moles or birthmarks Dysplastic nevi, those large size moles that are irregular in shape and have more than one color Spitz nevus, moles that look like bumps, usually pink
