A sexually active person must be undergoing continuous check-ups to rule out or detect any Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) in time.

Chlamydia and Gonorrhea

Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are common STDs that, if treated in time, do not cause major problems, however, if they are not detected in a timely manner, they can lead to Infertility and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.

The prevalence of Chlamydia in Chile is between 55 and 79 of 1,000 women between 15-24 years of age.

All people who have an active sexual life (especially those under 30, who are the population at greatest risk) should undergo examinations at least once a year, since there are some who will not manifest symptoms.

The detection is carried out by means of a urine test or by taking samples from the Vagina, Penis, Rectum or Throat, which are analyzed by the Specialist.
