Coronavirus: vaccines that will arrive in the country
The country has an agreement with the vaccines of AstraZeneca, Russia and Pfizer, with those of Johnson & Johnson and Sinopharm nothing has yet been agreed.
AstraZeneca Vaccine (AZD1222)
- Developed by the University of Oxford and produced at the mAbxience Laboratory in Argentina. Mexico will be in charge of packaging the vaccine and completing the production process
- It is made from a genetically modified chimpanzee adenovirus
- 2 intramuscular doses are applied with a difference of 28 days
- It was the first vaccine to be accepted by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), a European medical regulatory entity
- Argentina will receive more than 22 million doses in the first half of 2021
- The cost will be between 3-4 dollars
Sputnik V vaccine
- Conducted at the Gamaleya Research Institute of Russia
- It uses two human adenoviruses as vectors, one different in each dose, which are applied with a difference of 21 days
- Argentina will receive 25 million doses
- It will cost approximately $ 19.95
Pfizer Vaccine
- Uses innovative technology called messenger RNA
- 2 doses are applied with a separation of 28 days
- Requires conservation at less than 80 degrees
- Argentina will receive 3 million doses
- It will cost $ 19
Janssen vaccine
- Made by the pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson
- Uses a human adenovirus, which is used for vaccines such as Ebola
- It is administered in an intramuscular dose
- It will cost approximately $ 37
Sinopharm vaccine
- Chinese vaccine that uses the inactivated virus, a killed version of the gene that does not cause infection, but generates antibodies
